Singapore is at the top of the global ranking, enabling their passport holders to travel visa-free to 193 destinations worldwide, CNN reported.

Further down the top 10 list, Germany, Italy and Spain are tied in second place, while Japan, South Korea, Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg and Sweden are all together in the No. 3 slot, according to the cnn.com website.

European Union countries dominated the top of the list as usual, CNN said, with Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland all tied in fourth place.

Belgium, the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal and Switzerland are in fifth place, according to a report by London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners.

The firm's Henley Passport Index, based on exclusive data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), has been regularly monitoring the world's most travel-friendly passports since 2006, CNN reported.

Poland shares sixth place with Australia and Hungary, with access to 186 destinations visa-free, while Canada and Greece are tied at No. 7, followed by Lithuania and the United States together in eighth position.

Afghanistan sits at the bottom of the index of 199 passports. Its citizens can access just 27 countries without requiring a visa in advance, CNN reported.
