Firefighters extinguish fire at hazardous-waste site in southwest Poland: audio report

On Saturday, the city of Zielona Góra, southwestern Poland, witnessed a massive fire which broke out in a hazardous waste dump, and took 24 hours to contain.

Over five thousand cubic meters of toxic materials were stored in the warehouse that burnt. To make things worse, no one is aware of what exactly was stored in there. 

After a 24 hour struggle by almost 200 firefighters - on Sunday, the fire was finally contained. 

Unfortunately, this didn't mean that the problem disappeared - and the fire itself was yet another symptom of a much larger issue with illegal dump sites and hazardous waste import, that Poland deals with.
