The support is designed to assist in the training of doctoral students, particularly in the initial years of these schools' operation.

A total of PLN 7.135 million will be allocated for the maintenance and development of the research potential of the scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the research institutes in connection with conducting doctoral schools.

The funds, equating to over USD 1.7 million, will be distributed in proportion to the number of doctoral students in the respective schools. A total of 16 institutes will benefit from this increased funding – 14 scientific institutes under the Polish Academy of Sciences and two independent research institutes.

This funding boost is a one-time allocation and will not constitute an increase in the basis for calculating grants in 2024. This move by the MEiN underscores Poland's commitment to the development and enhancement of its scientific and educational sectors.
