Ewa Czyż, a press officer of the Chełm police, told news agency PAP that approximately 1,200 trucks are caught in queues, with the longest stretching 42 kilometers and an average waiting time of 400 hours.

The protest, which began on November 6, has been described as peaceful, with no incidents reported. The truckers are demanding the introduction of commercial permits for Ukrainian companies transporting goods, excluding those carrying humanitarian aid and military equipment. They also seek the suspension of operating permits for companies established post-outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

At the Hrebenne border crossing, around 600 heavy-goods vehicles face a waiting time of about 150 hours, as informed by a press officer of the Tomaszów Lubelski police.
