The survey indicates that 75 percent of Poles believe EU membership is important, and 82 percent think Poland benefits from being part of the bloc.

The data, released in the run-up to the EU-wide elections, which in Poland are scheduled for June 9, suggests a growing interest in EU affairs among Polish citizens.

Compared to five years ago, interest in the elections has increased by 16 percentage points, with 68 percent of Poles now expressing keenness.

Significantly, 76 percent of those surveyed in Poland indicated they would likely vote if the elections were held within a week, surpassing the EU average.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola commented on the findings, highlighting the increased interest in EU elections and the likelihood of voting compared to five years ago.

"This Eurobarometer shows that Europeans value membership in the Union, especially in this difficult geopolitical and socio-economic context," Metsola said.

The poll also shed light on the general perception of the EU among its member states. Across the EU, 45 percent of respondents have a positive view of the bloc, 38 percent are neutral, and 16 percent view it negatively.

In Poland, the sentiment is more favorable, with 53 percent viewing the EU positively, 37 percent neutrally, and only 10 percent negatively.
