Poland’s Gdańsk high on European quality of life list

The port of Gdańsk on Poland’s Baltic coast has placed high on the list of European cities regarding people’s satisfaction with life in their place of residence.

According to a survey by SchengenVisaInfo, Zurich, Copenhagen and Groningen in the Netherlands are the top three cities with the highest number of residents satisfied with their living, with Gdańsk in the fourth place.

Gdańsk, alongside Groningen and Braga in Portugal, is also among the top ten cities considered as the best to live in for immigrants.

The report includes 83 cities across the EU, European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries, the United Kingdom, the Western Balkans and Türkiye. It contains data from over 71, 000 interviews conducted with residents in each city between January and April 2023.

The factors taken into consideration included safety, availability of public spaces, healthcare, and opportunities for the elderly, families with young children as well as migrants. (mk/pm)
