According to a report by hospital staff on Friday, the four girls, Agnieszka, Hania, Klementyna and Anielka, were born in the 30th week and fifth day of pregnancy through a caesarean section.

They weighed from 1,000 to 1,150 grams.

The happy parents, Dominika and Marcin Gąsienica–Matus, are in their early 30s and the quadruplets are their first children.

It is the fourth time quadruplets were born in Poland since October last year, the previous cases being in the cities of Białystok, Poznań and Lublin.

Statistics show that quadruplets are born once in every 700,000 pregnancies.
