Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski highlighted the array of activities during a special press conference aboard one of the ferries that will be carrying passengers between the banks of the Vistula River from May 1.

"I encourage everyone to take walks here, along the boulevards, but also across the newly opened pedestrian-cycling bridge, which has generated tremendous interest. In just the first week since its opening, over 200,000 people have used it," said the mayor.

This year’s May Day holiday coincides with Poland’s 20th anniversary of EU accession. The European Festival on Krakowskie Przedmieście will feature concerts and street theater performances. The festivities include performances by artists such as Roberto Ruggeri and Chris Schittulli, presenting Italian and French hits respectively. Additionally, the "Mykanów" Youth Brass Orchestra and "Dancing Europe" workshops will add to the lively atmosphere.

On May 1, the city’s Multimedia Fountain Park will host nightly shows synchronized to ABBA's hits, offering a dazzling visual experience for spectators. The festivities extend to cultural landmarks such as the Hansen House in Szumin, where tours will showcase the works of Polish modernist architect Zofia Garlińska-Hansen, commemorating her centenary.

For those seeking outdoor recreation, the Royal Łazienki Park will host the European Picnic, inviting guests to explore exhibitions and participate in family workshops. Outdoor tennis picnics and themed workshops are also planned, offering something for everyone.

The celebration also includes historical and educational components, with the opening of the season on the boulevards and the May 3 Constitution Run, commemorating Poland's national holiday.
