Draginja Nadazdin, director of Doctors Without Borders in Poland, highlighted the significant findings in an interview with the Polish Press Agency (PAP).

"The Humanitarian Barometer [the name of the survey] is a cyclical survey conducted by Doctors Without Borders in Poland on involvement in helping others. In its latest edition, 85 percent of respondents declared that they had engaged in charitable activity at least once in the past 12 months," Nadazdin told PAP.

This year's results are consistent with last year's findings (87 percent) and show a marked increase from two years ago, prior to the escalation of the war in Ukraine. Nadazdin emphasized that the Russian invasion in February 2022 was a pivotal moment that transformed Polish attitudes towards helping others.

"The experience of helping from those days has remained in Polish society. We have seen that we know how to be truly solidary, but also that we are already in a different place materially, that is, that simply Poles can afford to help those in need to a significant extent," Nadazdin concluded.
