Kraków, Poland, among the most walkable cities in Europe

In 2024, Kraków, situated in southern Poland, was ranked 13th out of 30 European destinations for tourists who prefer exploring local landmarks on foot.

The research on locations conducive to walking tourism was conducted by the language platform Preply.

In creating a European classification of tourist spots that can be explored on foot, the distance required to reach the most popular sites was considered.

In this regard, the top position went to Seville in Spain, where reaching the most attractive locations requires just over 2,000 steps, which can be covered in about a 20-minute walk.

Second place was taken by Venice in Italy. The analysis indicates that a walk between the main landmarks there takes around 27 minutes.

Third place went to Porto in Portugal. Tourists there spend an average of half an hour walking between various attractions.

The only Polish city in this ranking, Kraków, was placed outside the top ten, just behind Madrid.

To visit the landmarks in Kraków, located in southern Poland, one needs to dedicate about 73 minutes. During this time, it is possible to cover approximately 7,560 steps and burn 378 kcal.
