Guzik, 50, is a graduate of the Jagiellonian University’s School of Medicine in Kraków, southern Poland. He continued his education at Oxford University.
In addition of his work as the head of the Faculty of Internal Diseases and Rural Medicine at his alma mater, he holds the position of the Regius Professor of Physiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
His research covers such fields as molecular medicine, the cardiovascular system, immunology, and pharmacology.
Guzik has been included in the Highly Cited Researchers list’s cross-field category. He has 368 publications to his credit, which have been cited more than 24,000 times. Fifty-six of them have had more than 100 citations in scientific journals.
Highly Cited Researchers is a list published annually by Clarivate, a British-American publicly trade analytics company, whose activities include calculating the impact factor in the academic and scientific community.
