Officials advised avoiding moisture, as wet clothing increases the risk of hypothermia, and recommended consuming high-calorie meals, which provide the energy needed to heat the body.
Poles were also encouraged to drink hot tea but avoid alcohol, which dilates blood vessels and accelerates heat loss.
Authorities have appealed to the public to report any homeless people sleeping rough who could be at risk of hypothermia.
Nine people have died of exposure in Poland since the start of November, according to police statistics.
