Ewa Wachowicz, who once worked as a model and won the Miss Polonia title in 1992, also served for a time as the press spokesperson for the Polish Prime Minister. Today, she is a well-known television producer and famous for hosting popular cooking shows.
In addition to cooking, Ewa has a great passion for high-altitude mountaineering and extreme travel to the most remote corners of the world.
In 2025, the popular television star in Poland made an impressive start to the year with a trip to Antarctica. There, she and her friend, Kraków-based laryngologist Klaudia Cierniak-Kożuch, managed to summit Mount Sinley—the final peak in Ewa's long journey to conquer the "Volcanic Seven Summits." This series of volcanic peaks has been her goal for the past 12 years, with Mount Sinley standing at 4,285 meters (14,058 feet) above sea level.
Thanks to this achievement, Wachowicz and Cierniak-Kożuch became the first Polish women to reach all of the highest volcanic summits on every continent. These determined women reached this historic milestone during the Arctic day, when it remained bright despite significant fog limiting visibility.
"We began our summit attack during a beautiful weather window, but just before reaching the top, the weather broke down. Clouds, fog, and wind rolled in, which made the temperature feel like -49°C (-56,2°F )," Ewa Wachowicz shared on Instagram shortly after their difficult but successful return to the Union Glacier base.
The team leader, Tomasz Kobielski, also achieved a remarkable feat by breaking a record for women. The experienced mountaineer became the first Pole to conquer both the Seven Summits and the Volcanic Seven Summits, earning him dual recognition for this extraordinary accomplishment.
