She is a third year student of International Relations and Area Studies IRAS at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, southern Poland, an undergraduate interdisciplinary programme covering international economics, development, global governance, ethics of war, conflict resolution and peace building, regional integration, cultural diversity, and intercultural dialogue.

As the leader of IRAS students team, Kateryna secured her university’s victory in the prestigious competition ‘Students for a United and Resilient Europe’ (SURE), aimed at fighting disinformation and promoting peaceful co-existence between Ukrainian refugees and communities of host countries – Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.

The Jagiellonian University writes on its website that Kateryna has proved herself to be a very emphatic and hard-working student, fully dedicated to her research discipline.

“As the leader of the Young European Ambassadors programme, she co-organised a number of events, participated in international seminars and led a number of important campaigns, including the award-winning EMPA project, aimed at fighting disinformation and promoting empathy. She has presented her projects at a number of Polish and international conferences, discussing such issues as cultural diplomacy, cybersecurity, and sustainable development.”

Kateryna is quoted on the University’s website as saying: “I chose this field of study to better understand global dynamics and foster connections. The Jagiellonian University, with its academic excellence and vibrant international community, was my first choice, and I am grateful for the supportive environment here in Kraków.”
