A power failure forced Heathrow to shut down, affecting flights across Europe.

Warsaw Chopin Airport spokesperson Anna Dermont urged passengers traveling to or from London to check airline updates. So far, six of 14 scheduled flights between the cities have been canceled, including three departures and three arrivals.

As confirmed by Krzysztof Moczulski, spokesperson for LOT Polish Airlines, the following flights have been canceled:

  • LO286 LHR–WAW
  • LO281/LO282 WAW–LHR–WAW

For now, the afternoon rotation (LO279/LO280) is at risk of cancellation as the airline awaits further updates from UK authorities.

According to the latest reports, a fire in an electrical substation 1.5 kilometers from Heathrow caused the outage.

Firefighters have contained the blaze, but the airport will remain closed until at least midnight, leading to widespread travel disruptions.
