Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna expressed her deep concern about the need to protect children and young people from the harmful effects of e-cigarette use. "E-cigarettes are cheaper than reusable ones, making them more accessible. They are disposed of immediately after use, contributing to plastic waste on our planet. Moreover, we are unaware of what substances are in these harmful containers and what chemicals they may contain," Minister Leszczyna added.
Pediatrician Professor Teresa Jackowska emphasized that e-cigarettes are addictive and just as dangerous as traditional cigarettes. "Children who start with e-cigarettes are later addicted to nicotine.”
The government plans to adopt the regulations in the third quarter of this year. They also intend to limit the appearance of new nicotine products, such as nicotine pouches, on the market.
