Poll: Nearly 69% of Poles say alcohol is too easy to buy

Almost seven in ten respondents consider alcohol too easily available in Poland, a new survey for the daily “Rzeczpospolita” found.

Asked, “In your opinion, is alcohol in Poland too easily accessible?”, 41.5% answered “definitely yes” and 27.1% “rather yes,” totaling 68.6%. A contrary view was held by 21.4% (“rather no”) and 2.9% (“definitely no”), while 7.1% could not answer.

“Rzeczpospolita” noted the strongest agreement among Poles aged 50–59, where 85% said availability is too high. The lowest share was among 18–29-year-olds, at 45%.

Views also varied by political preference. Voters of ruling liberal Civic Coalition and main opposition party, conservative Law and Justice, most often chose “definitely yes,” while the fa-right Confederation electorate was at the opposite end, the paper reported.

IBRiS conducted the poll on September 26–27 via CATI on a nationwide, representative sample of 1,073 respondents.
