The Government Security Centre (RCB) issued an alert covering ten counties across southern and southeastern Poland, in effect until Saturday evening.

Forecasters predict snow accumulation of 25–35 cm in lowland areas, with mountainous regions expecting 35–50 cm. Avalanche warnings are currently at level two in the Tatras.

The severe weather has disrupted road conditions, with significant slowdowns reported on major routes, including the “Zakopianka” road connecting Kraków and Zakopane, as well as national roads DK28 and DK75.

Heavy vehicles are struggling on steep inclines, and drivers are urged to exercise caution.

Residents have been advised to monitor weather updates closely and take care on roads and pavements.
