Ukrainian woman fined after “bomb” joke delays Zurich flight at Warsaw airport

A 29-year-old Ukrainian woman was fined and barred from boarding a flight to Zurich on Sunday after walking through Warsaw Chopin Airport with the word “bomb” written on her forehead in lipstick.

Airport security personnel were alerted by staff who saw the passenger moving through the terminal with the visible inscription. Border Guard officers responded and informed the woman she could face the use of direct coercive measures if she failed to comply with orders.

“She remained calm, was not aggressive, and followed instructions,” said Border Guard spokesperson Dagmara Bielec.

The woman underwent a personal and baggage search and later told officers the inscription was meant as a joke.

She was fined PLN 500 (EUR 119) and was not allowed to board her flight.
