The country's population declined by about 51,000 in the first three months of this year alone, Statistics Poland (GUS) reported.
Data showed that around 57,500 live births were recorded in the first quarter, roughly unchanged from the same period a year earlier.
But the natural population change—the difference between the number of births and deaths—remained negative at about 54,500, according to Statistics Poland.
The office said in September last year that Poland's population could shrink by 6.6 million by 2060, continuing a demographic decline driven by low birth rates and an aging society.
