The minister said all flight clearances have been approved, and a military medical team will be on board to ensure the woman, named Klaudia, can be safely transferred to a hospital in Poland.

"This help is our duty," Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on X.

"I thank everyone who has worked over the past few days to obtain the necessary approvals and cooperated with Chinese doctors. Keep your fingers crossed. Klaudia, we're waiting for you."

Klaudia, 24, is from Wałbrzych in southwestern Poland.

She was hospitalised in Beijing in mid-April and her condition rapidly deteriorated.

Doctors diagnosed her with an aggressive form of cancer.

She had studied Chinese philology in Wrocław before continuing her studies in Beijing.
