The index was based on an analysis of 48 of Europe's most visited cities across 11 indicators, ranging from accommodation prices and safety to the number of attractions.
Zurich was ranked the least attractive city for solo travellers due to its high costs. It had the highest accommodation costs, the second-highest food costs and the third-highest transport costs. Reykjavik and Venice were also among the three lowest-ranked cities.
