Eighty-two percent of those who smoke do so regularly and 18 percent light up on occasion, according to the survey by pollster CBOS.
The proportion of men who are smokers is higher than that of women: 31 percent vs. 21 percent, the pollster reported.
Only 2 percent of respondents said they smoked e-cigarettes on a regular basis, while 1 percent described themselves as occasional e-cigarette users, according to the study.
Overall, the percentage of Poles who smoke is "the lowest in history," the pollster said, as cited by state news agency PAP.
