“Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki established government teams that will coordinate the process of accommodating refugees and wounded people from Ukraine,” the prime minister’s top aide, Michał Dworczyk, wrote on social media.
On Wednesday, Morawiecki declared that his government will create special teams tasked with monitoring and providing help to refugees in case of a Russian invasion on Ukraine. “A war may cause an exodus from Ukraine, we must be prepared for the worst,” Morawiecki said at the time.
He also added: “We are here to defend the eastern flank of NATO, but we are helping Ukraine and Ukrainians also due to humanitarian reasons so that if Russia attacks we can mitigate the effects”.
On Saturday, Morawiecki is set to take part in the Munich Security Conference.
