Polish firefighters thanked for helping battle wildfires in France

The French ambassador to Warsaw, Frédéric Billet, has met with Polish firefighters to thank them for helping battle wildfires in his country in the summer.

“On behalf of my country and myself, I would like to sincerely thank you all for your enormous contribution to saving French soil from fires,” Billet said at the meeting in the French embassy in Warsaw on Monday.

He added: “Dear Polish firefighters, France is extremely grateful to you. We know now that we can count on Poland, just as Poland can count on us."
