Born in 1937 in Lviv (in today's Ukraine), Mariusz Walter went on to study at the Silesian Politechnic in Gliwice.
He later worked for Radio Katowice, in 1963 moving to Warsaw to take up a position in TVP in Warsaw. He continued working in Polish Television until the period of martial law - leaving Polish Television in 1982.
He went on to co-found television stations, foremost among them being TVN and TVN24.
Mariusz Walter passed away at the age of 85.
