Following closely behind are topics such as the condition of the economy, the rule of law, and the reform of the healthcare system, Poland’s PAP news agency reported on Sunday.

The poll conducted by SW Research for the Rzeczpospolita daily shows that combating inflation was considered as the primary focus by the majority of respondents, 37.2%, in the run-up to the forthcoming parliamentary election scheduled for October.

The survey highlights that individuals with vocational education and lower earnings (45%) were more likely to prioritise anti-inflation efforts, PAP writes.

Furthermore, residents of cities with a population of up to 20,000 (42%) were particularly concerned about inflation, seeing it as the primary campaign topic.

"The fight against inflation should be the prevailing theme… with women (40%) more inclined to support the notion than men (34%), SW Research vice president Piotr Zimolzak was quoted as saying.

“Among the respondents aged between 25 and 34, over half (52 %) deemed the battle against rising prices to be the most crucial issue," he added.

In terms of other key topics, 17.1% of respondents believed that the condition of the economy should take center stage in the campaign.

Meanwhile, 14.9% of participants expressed the view that the rule of law in Poland should be the central focus.

Additionally, 10% of respondents indicated that the campaign should revolve around healthcare system reform.

Only a small proportion, around 2%, suggested that foreign policy or environmental issues should be the main theme of the campaign.

The survey was conducted among users of an online panel on June 27 and 28, 2023.
