In a statement on the X platform, Latushka expressed his hope for continued support from Poland in the Belarusian people's struggle for freedom and independence, emphasizing the need to hold Belarusian strongman leader Alexander Lukashenko accountable before the International Criminal Court.

In a broader statement on the YouTube channel, Latushka emphasized the significance of Sikorski's role.

"The appointment of Radosław Sikorski as the foreign minister of Poland gives us confidence that Poland will continue to support the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people and the independence and sovereignty of our country," Latushka said.

He added: "I am convinced that an independent, democratic, European Belarus also corresponds to Poland's national interests."

Latushka, who lives in exile mainly in Poland and Lithuania, leads the Belarusian National Anti-Crisis Management, a shadow Cabinet aiming to bring about a peaceful power transition in Belarus following the country's disputed 2020 presidential election.

He has been sentenced in absentia to 18 years in prison by a Belarusian court.
