A collision on Provincial Road 631 between a passenger car and a military truck resulted in the death of the 31-year-old driver of the car.

The man was resuscitated but could not be saved, and firefighters had to use hydraulic equipment to extract his body.

The military truck was carrying 25 people, including 23 soldiers from the 2nd Mazovian Engineer Regiment in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. They were on their way to scheduled shooting exercises, according to local news outlet TVN Warszawa.

The accident happened when the driver of a Volkswagen Caddy attempted to overtake another vehicle, veering into the opposite lane and crashing head-on into the military truck.

One soldier was injured, and the others are expected to undergo medical checks. According to the latest information, eight people were injured in the accident and were transported to hospitals in Legionowo and the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw.

The most seriously injured person required a helicopter from the Polish Medical Rescue Service (LPR), which was dispatched to the scene.
