Series of murders targeting retired women shocks Warsaw

Polish authorities have confirmed the murders of three senior citizens in the capital of Poland within days, with reports suggesting there may be more victims.

According to Wirtualna Polska, two suspects - a Polish citizen and a Ukrainian - have been arrested in connection with the crimes.

The latest victim, a 73-year-old woman, was found bound, strangled, and robbed in the Ursynów district after being forced to change her bank transaction limits. The attacker allegedly escaped by jumping from the second-floor window onto a ground-floor terrace.

Similar murders occurred earlier in Śródmieście and Ochota, all targeting older women living alone, leading police to link the cases.

Prosecutors are conducting an ongoing investigation and plan to reveal more details at a press conference.
