The 24-year-old Pole, coached by American Craig Boynton, on Sunday won the men's singles at the Miami Open, a major US tournament sometimes referred to as "the fifth Grand Slam."
Hurkacz took down 19-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner 7-6, 6-4 in the final in Florida to claim his third ATP singles title and become Poland's first ATP Masters 1000 singles champion.
In January, Hurkacz won his second ATP singles title by beating American Sebastian Korda in the final of the Delray Beach Open tournament in the United States.
Meanwhile, Kamil Majchrzak, a Polish 25-year-old, has dropped four spots to No. 118 in the latest rankings released on Monday by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
Serbia’s Novak Djokovic remains No. 1 in the ATP ranking, followed by Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Spain’s Rafael Nadal.
