The 24-year-old pulled off a straight-set 7-6, 6-4 victory over Italy's Jannik Sinner in the final on Sunday, becoming the first Pole to win a Masters 1000 title in the singles.
After his triumph in the tournament in the US state of Florida, Hurkacz is expected to climb in the rankings to world No. 16, a career best.
On Friday, Hurkacz defeated Russia's Andrey Rublev 6-3, 6-4 in their men's singles semi-final.
A day earlier, Hurkacz beat second-seeded Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinal.
Polish President Andrzej Duda hailed Hurkacz's victory in the tournament as a "great success."
"Bravo! Congratulations! Thank you! Another Polish tennis player at the highest international level," Duda wrote on Twitter.
Poland's other major recent tennis success was delivered by Iga Świątek. The Polish teenager in October won the French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
In February, Świątek won the Adelaide International tournament in Australia to claim her second singles title.
