The Pole and the American eased past Croatia’s Darija Jurak and Slovenia’s Andreja Klepač 6-3, 6-2 in their quarterfinal match on Tuesday.

Up next for Świątek and Mattek-Sands at the Grand Slam tournament in the French capital is the duo of Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu and Argentina's Nadia Podoroska.

Poland’s Świątek on Monday booked her place in the quarterfinals of the French Open women's singles after a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 win against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine.

The 20-year-old Pole, who is defending her singles title in Paris, will on Wednesday play Greece's Maria Sakkari for a spot in the semifinals of the women’s singles at the 2021 French Open.

The rising Polish tennis star, who turned 20 on May 31, last month won the women's singles at the Italian Open clay-court tournament in Rome.

In October, she won the 2020 French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
