The event features over 200 male and female competitors from 20 countries, including defending European champion Timo Boll of Germany and Poland's multiple Olympian and Paralympian Natalia Partyka.
The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) said last year it was postponing the event due to an increased number of coronavirus cases in many parts of the continent, combined with travel restrictions, and mandatory quarantine rules for some countries.
Ronald Kramer, head of the European Table Tennis Union, told Polish Radio's Klaudiusz Madeja at the time that the “safety of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and partners has been a priority for all organisations involved.”
