The 24-year-old Pole, coached by American Craig Boynton, last week hit a career milestone by reaching the semifinals of the Wimbledon tennis championships in London.

Hurkacz in April won the men's singles at the Miami Open, a major US tournament sometimes referred to as "the fifth Grand Slam."

Meanwhile, Kamil Majchrzak, a 25-year-old who was last week added to Team Poland for the Tokyo Olympics, has dropped five spots to No. 109 in the latest rankings released on Monday by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who won his sixth Wimbledon and 20th Grand Slam title on Sunday, remains No. 1 in the ATP ranking, followed by Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Spain’s Rafael Nadal.
