The annual Independence Run will be held in the Polish capital for the 33rd time to celebrate the recovery of the country’s sovereignty on November 11, 1918 after 123 years of foreign rule.
The 10-kilometre route leads around the city’s downtown area, with kick-off scheduled for 11:11 a.m.
As in previous years, runners will be wearing the red-and-white national colours.
The Independence Run is the third in a series of three major patriotic runs in Warsaw that every year celebrate key events from the nation’s history.
The other two are the May 3rd Constitution Run, which celebrates the historic constitution that the country’s legislators adopted 232 years ago, and the Warsaw Uprising Run, which honours the revolt that broke out in the Polish capital against the occupying Nazi Germans on August 1, 1944.
Tens of thousands of runners take part in these three events every year.
