Women's handball: Poland to play Iran in world championship opener

Poland are set to play Iran in the opening match of the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship in Herning, Denmark, on Thursday.

The match begins at 8:30 p.m. at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena in the Danish city.

Poland, coached by Norwegian Arne Senstad, will also play Japan and Germany at the same venue in the group stage of the tournament.

The 2023 World Women’s Handball Championship will be played across six venues in Denmark, Norway and Sweden from November 29 to December 17.

The defending champions are Norway, who defeated France 29-22 in the world championship final two years ago in Spain.
