The win in the Danish city of Herning marked Poland's first game in the main round of the tournament as the team sets its sights on securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Poles, coached by Norwegian Arne Senstad, will now face Denmark and Romania in their upcoming matches in the main round of the tournament.
Thirty-two teams, including defending champions Norway, are vying for supremacy in the 2023 World Women’s Handball Championship.
The tournament spans six venues across Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and runs until December 17.
