The 27-year-old Pole, ranked ninth in the world, will face the Italian ace in Halle on Sunday afternoon, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Hurkacz on Saturday saw off Germany's fourth-ranked Alexander Zverev 7-6, 6-4 in the semifinals of the 2024 Halle Open.

The fifth-seeded Pole defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli, 7-5, 7-6, Australian qualifier James Duckworth, 7-6 , 6-4, and American Marcos Giron earlier in the tournament.

Hurkacz is playing for his ninth career singles title in Halle.

The Polish player is set to climb to at least No. 7 in the world, a new career-high, when the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) updates its rankings on Monday, according to reports.

Last year, Hurkacz reached the second round of the Halle Open, where he lost to Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands 3-6, 6-1, 6-7.

Two years ago, the Polish player won the tournament in Halle.
