US Open: Poland’s Świątek eases into 3rd round of women’s singles

Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek has cruised into the third round of the women’s singles at the US Open tennis tournament in New York, with a straight-set win over Japan's Ena Shibahara.

The 23-year-old Pole saw off the Japanese qualifier 6-0, 6-1 in their second-round match at Flushing Meadows on Thursday.
