Floods cause sport event cancellations across Europe

According to Polish state news agency PAP, the floods have led to the cancellation of scheduled football matches and speedway events.

The 9th round fixtures of the 2nd football league: Zagłębie Sosnowiec vs. Pogoń Grodzisk Maz., Skra Częstochowa vs. Polonia Bytom, and Wieczysta Kraków vs. GKS Jastrzębie have been canceled, while the Rekord Bielsko-Biała vs. Hutnik Kraków match has been rescheduled to September 17.

The first final match of the 2nd Speedway Ekstraliga, Innpro ROW Rybnik vs. Abramczyk Polonia Bydgoszcz, has also been postponed to September 20.

In the Czech Republic, all 8th round matches of the Czech league have been canceled due to forecasts of heavy rain.

In Austria, the Bundesliga match between RB Salzburg and Austria Klagenfurt scheduled for Saturday has been postponed as the pitch at the Red Bull Arena became too soggy.
