Iga Świątek calls for help for Poland's flood victims

Fundraising efforts are underway across the country to assist flood victims, and Świątek urged her fans to contribute as well.

“What we can do to help, even if we’re not there, is to participate in verified financial or material donation drives, according to our ability,” she wrote, including a link to one of the campaigns.

“My thoughts are with everyone impacted by the flood, as well as the rescue teams and organizations providing aid. You are not alone,” the Polish tennis star added.

On Monday, Iga Świątek began her 121st week as the world No. 1, moving up to seventh place in the all-time WTA ranking for the longest-reigning top players.

The 23-year-old from Raszyn matched Australian Ashleigh Barty, who also held the No. 1 spot for 121 weeks.
