Champions League: Poland's Marciniak to referee Atalanta vs. Real Madrid in Bergamo

Poland’s Szymon Marciniak will referee Tuesday’s Champions League match between Italian heavyweights Atalanta and Spanish giants Real Madrid in Bergamo, officials have confirmed.

The 43-year-old will be assisted by Polish linesmen Tomasz Listkiewicz and Adam Kupsik at Atalanta's Stadio di Bergamo in northern Italy on Tuesday night, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Meanwhile, Poland's Tomasz Kwiatkowski and Portugal's Tiago Martins will be the video assistant referees for the match.

Marciniak is regarded as one of the world's top football referees.

In December 2022, he officiated the World Cup final between Argentina and France.

In May 2022, Marciniak refereed the Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan in Istanbul.
