The best of Poles, Paweł Wąsek, jumped 137 m and 130 m respectively, which gave him a total score of 297.8 points and 10th place in Oberstdorf. Jakub Wolny ended 30th. Aleksander Zniszczoł was 36th, and Piotr Żyła finished 41st.
In the first series - played by the KO system - Wąsek won the duel against Germany's Karl Geiger, and Wolny eliminated Finland's Antti Aalto. Meanwhile, Zniszczoł lost to Germany's Andreas Wellinger, and Żyła was beaten by Estonia's Artti Aigro.
"My jumps definitely looked better today, but we didn't change anything specific. I had the same vision. Yesterday simply wasn't my day. I had to wake up and recover after Christmas, get moving a bit - and it started to work"
- Wąsek said, speaking for Eurosport after the competition.
"The point I earned today is the only plus. My jumps weren't impressive. I made some progress, but I'm not happy. Today I got lucky, though - which I lacked so far this year"
- commented Wolny.
Kraft triumphed with a score of 335.1 points, earned through his jumps of 138 m and 135.5 m. It is his first victory of the season - and 44th in his career - in an individual World Cup competition. The Austrian last won on March 17, 2024, in Vikersund, Norway. When it comes to earning the top-3 spot, though - it was the 123 time Kraft managed such a feat, and among the active jumpers - he tops the charts in this regard.
