The Poles battled hard but were eventually defeated by the German team on Wednesday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Denmark, Croatia and Norway are jointly hosting the tournament, which began on Tuesday and runs until February 2.

Thirty-two teams, including defending champions Denmark, are vying for supremacy in the 2025 World Men’s Handball Championship.

Poland will seek their first win in the tournament on Friday against the Czech Republic, while Germany will take on Switzerland.
