The duo beat Australian siblings Emerson and Hayden Jones 6-0, 7-5 in the first round on Friday.

The 28-year-old Pole and the 39-year-old Taiwanese have two Grand Slam mixed doubles titles to their name and are the defending champions at Melbourne Park.

In addition to winning last year's Australian Open, they triumphed at the Wimbledon championships in London in July.

Meanwhile, Poland's Magdalena Fręch crashed out of the Australian Open women's singles after being eliminated by Russia's world No. 14 Mirra Andreeva in the third round on Friday.

World No. 2 Iga Świątek is the last Pole still standing in the singles at this year's Australian Open.

She is set to take on Britain's 61st-ranked Emma Raducanu, a former US champion, for a spot in the fourth round on Saturday.

The 202Australian Open runs until January 26.
