The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. local Polish time (CET).

Their last encounter occurred at the Paris Olympics, where Zheng produced a major upset by defeating the heavily favored Świątek in the semifinals, denying the Pole a chance at the gold medal.

“I need to look over her recent matches,” Świątek said, calling Zheng a “very demanding opponent” and emphasizing the importance of strategy given the time that has passed since their last showdown.

Zheng, who won Olympic gold in Paris, expects “a tough match” as both players have cruised through their previous rounds.

Świątek advanced to the quarterfinals on Tuesday by dispatching Karolína Muchová 6-1 6-1, having dropped just six games in three matches at this WTA 1000 event.
