"We confirm the signing of a contract with Dynamo Kyiv to organize its UEFA competitions qualifying matches in the 2025/2026 season at Arena Lublin. Details, including the dates of the games, will be provided once they are determined."
- informed Aleksandra Romańska, spokeswoman for the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre "Bystrzyca" in Lublin, which manages the stadium.
With 63 points, Dynamo is currently the leader of the Ukrainian top tier, so it is likely to compete in the 25/26 UEFA Champions League qualifiers. The second Oleksandria currently trails by 6 points with 57, and third Shakhtar Donetsk is 10 points behind the leader with 53.
For the Kyiv team, this will be a return to Lublin. Dynamo played its three 24/25 Champions League qualifiers there in the summer of 2024, with more than 20.000 people attending in total. Once they were eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers, though - Dynamo played their UEFA Europa League matches in Hamburg, Germany. The officials of the Kyiv club have not yet provided any information if the likely champion of Ukraine's football top-tier will stay in Lublin for longer this season.
The Motor Lublin Arena, opened in 2014, is already well-accustomed to International football. In the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons, Ukraine's Zorya Luhansk also played their Europa League and Conference League home games there. Unlike Dynamo's summer 2024 bouts, these matches did not gather significant crowds, though.
The stadium in Lublin also hosted the men's European Under-21 Championship in 2017, and the Under-20 World Cup in 2019 - as well as some international games of Poland's women's national team.
