The match took place on Friday in front of over 51,000 fans at PGE Narodowy Stadium in the Polish capital, Warsaw.
Legia Warsaw took the lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Brazilian midfielder Luquinhas. Pogoń Szczecin equalized just before the break, with Bosnian defender Danijel Lončar scoring in the 41st minute.
In the second half, Japan’s Ryoya Morishita restored Legia’s lead just after the restart with a goal in the 46th minute. Legia extended their lead to 3–1 in the 64th minute, thanks to a goal from Belarusian striker Ilja Shkurin.
Pogoń, representing Szczecin in the northwest of Poland, responded with a goal from Greek forward Efthymios Koulouris in the 67th minute, but Legia sealed the win with a fourth goal from Portuguese defender Rúben Vinagre in the 85th minute.
Pogoń’s hopes were briefly revived in stoppage time, when Kacper Smoliński pounced on a rebound from Koulouris’ shot saved by Legia goalkeeper Tobiasz, but it was too late for a comeback. The Polish Cup stays in Warsaw.
