The world No. 31 defeated Menšík (ranked 21st) in a tense three-set match, winning 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
The match was interrupted several times due to rain, adding to the drama on court.
Hurkacz will now face American world No. 12 Tommy Paul in the quarter-finals. Paul secured his spot after beating Australia’s Alex De Minaur (No. 8) in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.
